Dr. Cariss received her doctoral degree in School Psychology from Temple University. She worked in public schools for six years as a Nationally Certified School Psychologist before joining A to Z as a post-doctoral fellow in 2021. Dr. Cariss uses largely Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness based interventions for symptom relief. Creating a warm, empathetic environment and utilizing evidence-based interventions tailored to the individual client are at the forefront of Dr. Cariss’ therapeutic approach.
Dr. Cariss works with people across the lifespan but specializes in working with children and adolescents. She frequently works with clients presenting with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and childhood behavior disorders. Dr. Cariss also provides psychological assessment services for children, adolescents, and adults. These assessments include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental and intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and other behavioral and emotional disorders. She also offers evaluations for pre-surgical mental health evaluations. Dr. Cariss completed her Post-Doctoral Fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Jeremy Zane
